Eligibility with Code:

  1. Option 1:
    • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
    • Passed or currently in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  2. Option 2:
    • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks.
    • Passed or currently in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE 2002 norms.
  3. Option 3:
    • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
    • Passed or currently in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  4. Option 4:
    • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
    • Passed or currently in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  5. Option 5:
    • Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks.
    • Passed or currently in the final year of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed).
    • Note: If you have acquired the B.Ed qualification from any NCTE recognized institution, you can be appointed as a teacher for classes I to V. However, you must undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years of your appointment as a primary teacher.
  6. Option 6:
    • Post-graduation with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
    • Passed or currently in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. program.

      Class VI to VIII Eligibility with Code

      1. Option 1:
        • Bachelor’s Degree.
        • Passed or currently in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
      2. Option 2:
        • At least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post-Graduation.
        • Passed or currently in the final year of a Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
      3. Option 3:
        • Graduation with at least 45% marks.
        • Passed or currently in the final year of a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) following NCTE norms.
      4. Option 4:
        • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
        • Passed or currently in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
      5. Option 5:
        • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks.
        • Passed or currently in the final year of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed program.
      6. Option 6:
        • Graduation with at least 50% marks.
        • Passed or currently in the final year of a 1-year B.Ed. or B.Ed Special Education program.
        • Any candidate who has completed a recognized B.Ed. program by the NCTE is eligible for TET/CTET.
      7. Option 7:
        • Post-graduation with a minimum of 55% marks.
        • Passed or currently in the final year of a three-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed program.

          How to Fill Online form

          1. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) for Paper I to V & VI to VIII in 2023.
          2. You can apply online from April 27, 2023, to May 26, 2023.
          3. Note that this year, exam centers are limited in every city. You will see the available exam center information while filling out the form.
          4. To secure your preferred exam center or city, it’s advisable to apply as soon as possible because slots are limited.
          5. Before applying, read the notification provided by CBSE for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) application thoroughly.
          6. Ensure you have all the necessary documents ready, including eligibility documents, ID proof, and address details.
          7. Prepare scanned copies of required documents such as your photo, signature, ID proof, etc.
          8. Before submitting the application, carefully review all the information you’ve entered in the form.
          9. If there is an application fee, make sure to pay it. Your application will not be considered complete without the required fee.
          10. After submitting the application, be sure to take a printout of the final submitted form for your records.
